Description: Research findings and practitioner knowledge can only be of maximum value to students if the information is shared widely and with varied audiences. Attendees will be introduced to a variety of opportunities for sharing their research locally, nationally, and globally and positioned to land such opportunities. For example, give a TED Talk, get on NPR, land a book deal, become reporters' "go to" expert to interview or quote... thousands of chances to share await. The presenter will share little-known strategies for reaching big audiences, many requiring very little time or effort to land (such as devoting 5 minutes to joining databases top reporters use to find expert sources). The presenter will also cover branding, social media, press kits, and other aspects to positioning yourself as a thought leader in your specific niche.
