Awards & Honors
Dr. Rankin’s many honors include winning Teacher of the Year and being honored multiple times by the U.S. White House for her contributions to her field (e.g., the American flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol Building in honor of Dr. Rankin), as well as earning the status of Fulbright Specialist. Her books have also won accolades; for example, three of her books have been awarded at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meetings with Outstanding Book Award Honorable Mentions from the Society of Professors of Education, and one of her books earned the top spot on Newsweek’s 2019 List of Teacher Appreciation Week Gift Ideas and had a Learners Edge course built around it.
